Feb 23, 1951
My Dear Carolyn.
My heartfelt congratulations to you. Your little boy will many times be a comfort to you. I had you in my mind day and night seems to me, and at 6:30 – the 21st, - I was awake and said to Grandpa, I just wonder what’s happening to Carolyn. I would have written yesterday but our minister Mr. & Mrs. Jaquith & baby Kathy and Gladys Miller

Were here so you see I first couldn’t write and I needed Grandpa too, so he couldn’t go out. Then to-Day we had a date with the eye Dr. My eyes are bad I see the best out of my right eye and couldn’t put it off longer.
Now you really are a woman. Girls have to have children before they are really grown up. And I hope and know you will be very happy especially as he grows older and learns

Something new each day. They are cure and some worry but it’s the most-precious possession one can have, outside of a good husband. Sorry I didn’t [phone] you after you left Christmas. Like to have seen Jeanne when she heard she is an aunt.
Don’t know when I can see you but I wish you the best you can have and good health.
